Brake linings, also called brake shoes, are pressed against the inside of the brake drums during braking, slowing down the wheel. The brake linings are kept in position by springs. Firstly, the tension springs, which sit horizontally between the brake linings. These ensure that the brake linings return to a neutral position after braking. In addition, there is a locking spring vertically through the wheel brake, which ensures that the brake lining remains attached to the anchor plate. This brake lining set contains all wear parts of a wheel brake.

When replacing your trailer brake linings, it is best to look at the numbers on your current brake lining. Once you've found these, you can easily replace your brake lining with the product bearing the same numbers. If you are unsure or can no longer read the numbers, you can look at the brand, dimensions, and mounting holes of the brake linings. Pay close attention to which holes and notches you are currently using with your brake lining and ensure that they match the holes and notches in the new product. For more information on what to look out for when ordering new brake linings or inspecting your braking system, please checkour knowledge page. You can also always contact our customer service, we are happy to help you find the right brake linings.

Replacing hub nut
When working on the trailer's braking system and the hub nut is removed, it is advisable to also replace the hub nut. The current hub nuts are steel locking nuts, designed for one-time use. If the hub nut is used multiple times, it will not lock correctly, which can cause it to loosen. A new locking nut is therefore necessary. A new nut will also tighten a bit more firmly, due to the locking that the nut must provide.
