Brake shoes, also known as brake pads, are pressed against the inside of the brake drums during braking, slowing down the wheel. The brake shoes are held in position by springs. Firstly, the tension springs, which sit horizontally between the brake shoes, ensure that the brake shoes return to a neutral position after braking. Additionally, there is a locking spring vertically through the wheel brake, which ensures that the brake shoe remains attached to the anchor plate. This brake shoe set contains all the wear parts of a wheel brake.
