The 7-pin 24V plug system according to ISO 1185 / ISO 3731 is currently the most widely used system for electrical connection between towing vehicle and trailer or tractor and semitrailer in the commercial vehicle sector. The system is mainly used for applications with medium requirements. It consists of a standard connector, type N, according to ISO 1185 and an additional connector, type S, according to ISO 3731. The additional system is distinguished from the standard system by the white housing, the contact inserts, and the non-interchangeable contact arrangement.
