Description
The distinctive housing is partially encapsulated with resin, making the charger splash-proof and shockproof (IP647). This rugged charger can be used in a wide variety of environments.
Charging Programs
The TBC 600 goes the extra mile in optimizing the charging process. Of course, the desired charging voltage can be adjusted to match the particular lead-acid battery. However, the charger also distinguishes between usage situations (onboard - stand alone). This means that the charging process is completely tailored to the specific combination. For batteries that are regularly deeply discharged, the charger has a special charging program to break down the sulfate. Ultimately, there is a choice of no less than 36 charging programs! This may sound complicated, but the settings are very easy to navigate with just 1 push button.
Charging Process
The microprocessor controls and monitors the charger, the battery, and the overall progress, resulting in a reliable and stable charging process. If an error is detected during the charging process, the charger indicates this with an error code. This makes it easy to identify the issue at hand. The charging process is fully automatic and will start a new charge when necessary. The charger can remain connected/turned on during battery discharge, engine start, or when multiple power sources are present (e.g. solar panel). Once the charging process is complete, the charger will enter the maintenance phase (trickle charge) and after some time will even transition to a special charging phase to maintain the battery's condition. The TBC 600 series is therefore also suitable for permanent connection.
Features
The status of the charging process is easy to read with the three LEDs on the front. A matching battery cable can be mounted on the two M6 connecting bolts at the front. Furthermore, a unique feature is that the voltage drop across the charging cables is automatically compensated. This ensures that the battery actually receives the set charging voltage. With soft start, reverse polarity protection, short circuit protection, and monitoring of the output voltage, input voltage, charging time, and of course the internal temperature, various aspects of the charging process are controlled.
Accessories
The charger can be expanded with a temperature sensor to monitor the battery temperature during the charging process. Depending on the measured temperature, corrections to the charging voltages are made. To ensure splash-proofing, this option is built in at the factory and must therefore be specified when ordering (this cannot be done afterwards).
We provide a 5-year warranty on this battery charger!
