Description
Shell Tixophalte Wet
Shell Tixophalte Wet is a professional bituminous adhesive and sealing compound with permanent flexibility for permanent adhesion, even under humid conditions.
Shell Tixophalte Wet is a plasto-elastic (thixotropic), neutrally curing adhesive/sealant based on a high-quality bitumen/rubber mixture, additives, fillers, and a non-toxic and non-chlorinated solvent.
The temperature resistance of Shell Tixophalte Wet ranges from -35°C to +90°C. The product has high flow resistance and high adhesion to the most common substrates (brick, concrete, PVC, PP, PE, PUR, EPS, metal, glass, asphalt, roofing), even when applied underwater. Furthermore, Shell Tixophalte Wet has good UV stability and even protects against rust and moisture.
Applications:
Shell Tixophalte Wet is the ideal product for bonding, sealing, and joint filling for various household and professional applications.
Construction: Sealing leaks and performing repairs, even on wet surfaces, attaching insulation and roofing, and other roofing, plumbing, and sealing applications. Belongs to the 12.5P class according to the specifications of the European standard ISO 11600 for sealants for construction.
Hydraulic applications: For cracks in seals and joints of water channels, dams, bridges, and water reservoirs, using its exceptional 'wet conditions' properties.
Infrastructure: Applications such as sealing and filling joints of water drainage channels in concrete, concrete bridge decks, and traffic detection loops.

Recommendations:
Application temperature:
The Shell Tixophalte Wet is ready for use and immediately cold applicable between +5°C and +40°C. At low temperatures, we recommend preheating the product (e.g. in warm water).
Substrate:
The substrate should preferably be clean, dry, and free of dust, grease/oil. Shell Tixophalte Wet can be applied between +5°C and +40°C. For special applications and/or moist substrates, conduct an adhesion test beforehand and/or apply a suitable primer. For highly porous (concrete) substrates, it is recommended to use a bituminous primer.
