Regulations regarding cargo marker board in the Netherlands:

The rules regarding a cargo marker board for protruding cargo from a vehicle are as follows:
- Indivisible cargo protruding from the front must be equipped with a red and white striped marker board. Attention! For trailers, the cargo should not protrude from the front, for vehicles up to 3500kg this is max. 1 meter.
- Indivisible cargo protruding more than 1 meter from the rear must be equipped with a red and white striped marker board. Attention! For trailers up to 3500kg the cargo should not exceed 1 meter from the rear!
- The marker board must have dimensions of at least 42 by 42 centimeters.
- In the dark, the marker board on the front of the cargo must have a white light and on the rear a red light. A marker board on the side of a vehicle must have lights on both the front (white light) and the rear (red light) in the dark.
- Indivisible cargo protruding more than 10 centimeters from the side must be equipped with a marker board.
- Marker boards must be attached perpendicular to the cargo at a minimum height of 35 and a maximum height of 170 centimeters.
- Marker boards must be clearly visible to other traffic.

Cargo marker board in Italy:

- Cargo protruding to the rear must always have a marker board in Italy.
- The cargo must be clearly visible.
- The cargo must not protrude from the front.
- In width, the cargo must not exceed 30 cm. (Measured from the front light or rear light)
- At the rear, indivisible cargo may protrude 30% of the vehicle's length. (Provided the maximum vehicle length is not exceeded)
- In the dark, the cargo must be equipped with a red light at the rear.
- If the cargo occupies the entire width of the vehicle, you will need 2 boards. Both attached to the corners and positioned so that the stripes form an inverted V shape together.
- Bicycles on a bike carrier must not protrude in width in Italy.
- The board must meet various requirements. It must be 50 x 50 cm. Additionally, it must have 5 red and white stripes. The board can be made of either plastic or aluminum.

Attention! In Italy, you need a different marker board than in Spain. In Italy, an aluminum board with five diagonal red and white stripes is mandatory, whereas in Spain you need a marker board with three stripes.
